Despite their best efforts, the Maitlands are unable to scare the Deetz family out of their home, and they eventually turn to the titular character, Beetlejuice (Michael Keaton), for help. Beetlejuice is a crude, mischievous spirit who agrees to help the Maitlands in exchange for being released from his own supernatural prison. But Beetlejuice's antics quickly spiral out of control, and he becomes a dangerous and unpredictable force that threatens the safety of everyone involved.
